Police are searching for the gunman who opened fired early Sunday in South Sacramento, the department said.

The shots were fired around 1:30 a.m. near Stockton Boulevard and Dias Avenue, police said.

When officers arrived, they heard two more shots fired. A large perimeter was set up as police investigated.

During the investigation, one man was detained, but was released after questioning. No suspects were found at the scene, police said.
